I led a group into making a rather simple and small dance robot that would dance to a song. The robot was built for Robocup and actually faired pretty well. It won 1st place at the New York Regionals.
The robot itself is in essence two arms on a motorized platform. I used three Lynxmotion servo brackets in each arm and used two of Pololu's plastic gearmotors on the platform. The drive motors are controlled by an L298. All the rest of the processing is done on an Axon microcontroller, which is programmed in C. After the torso was completed, I gave it a nice paintjob, for a unique look.
